created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our
firm commitment to protecting personal privacy. Information

The information we collect:
This site only uses cookies to determine if a pop-up screensaver
should run (DETE Internal use only). When visiting the web
site, our Internet Service Provider automatically makes a
record of all visits and logs the following information: Server
address (eg: the IP address from your Internet Service Provider);
Top level domain name (eg: .com, .net, .gov, .au, etc); The
date and time of visit; The pages accessed and documents downloaded;
The time spent on individual pages and the site overall; The
referrer (eg: a search engine or a link to our website); and
The type of browser used (eg: Internet Explorer, Netscape).
Reasons we collect this information:
The 'site usage' information listed above is aggregated and
may be
used for the following purposes: Website and system administration,
including monitoring to prevent security breaches; Determine
general usage patterns and fine tune layout in order to ensure
that our site is as useful and enjoyable as possible; Enhancement
of the website to better meet our users' needs; and Research
and development. DETE is unable to identify users or their
browsing activities from the information collected above.
However, in the unlikely event of an investigation, either
DETE or the Internet Service Provider may provide logs to
a law enforcement agency if they have exercised a warrant
for their inspection. The Department of Education, Training
& Employment uses reasonable precautions to keep the personal
information disclosed to us secure. This website also links
to a wide variety of other sites. We are not responsible for
their privacy policies or how they treat information about
their users.
E-mail Management:
We will only record your e-mail address if you send us a message
or make an order through the site. Your e-mail address will
only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it
and will not be made available for commercial purposes. We

The main way in which the DETE Tape Services website collects
information from users is through forms provided for orders
on web pages. The user's information is not collected by DETE
without the user's consent, that is, the user must click on
a button provided on each web page to submit their information
to DETE. At or before the time we collect personal information,
we will give notice to the user of our website as follows:
What personally identifiable information of yours will be
collected; Who is collecting the information; How the information

you have in connection with collecting, using and distributing

The orders, comments and information you send will enable
us to process your order and to ensure this site is as useful
and enjoyable as possible. This will enable the continual
development and enhancement of our online presence to better

to contact you, when necessary, in reply to your order, comments

issued under the State Records Act 1997.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes on our homepage so our users are always aware of what
information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances,
if any, we disclose it.
